A Thief Steals – That’s What He Does

If you don’t know, then know. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself. Do not be ignorant of the enemy. Know your authority. Know your jurisdiction. The enemy does not want you to know the power you have over your life. A thief steals – that’s what he does. Your ignorance is his power over you.

We moved to Florida several years ago. The house we moved into was a total flip. And boy did it look great on the surface. I could go into great detail about the whole story, but the bottom line is that in a simple statement, we were “taken” and had to put quite a bit of money into it.

When the Thief is Caught

Proverbs 6:31a NIV

but if he is caught, he will pay sevenfold;

Being familiar with the enemy and the Biblical restitution policy, we walked away from the situation with even more than the sevenfold (there must have been some other things the enemy stole that were paid back). 😄

Side note – the contractor disappeared back to his country. The Inspection Company Owner had dissolved his business, and the reality company (part of a market capitalization worth $700 billion) didn’t do a thing about it though it was their transaction and recommended inspector. No court actions were involved. Yet we were restored and then some – A God Story!

Theft Prevention

For fun, I googled “Theft Prevention” to see what would come up. So let me share and draw some parallels:

  • Find a buddy and don’t walk alone – Hmmm? This is a part of your everyday walking around kind of life…with Jesus! Never walk without Him. Through the Holy Spirit who resides in you, you have the power of attorney to the name and power of Jesus over the enemy.
  • Don’t be distracted. The thief focuses on distracted targets. Stay focused on the author and perfector of your faith – Jesus.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings. Know what you have jurisdiction over. Don’t be fooled or distracted by the deception of the enemy. Trust the leading of the Spirit of God who resides in you and know your authority.
  • Avoid dark or unlit areas. If you are walking with Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit, then you are walking in the light. Don’t chance walking in the dark. Not for a moment.

Bottom Line Regarding the Thief

Know what your power and authority are over the enemy and know how to use it. The thief wants you to be ignorant about it. And if you are not ignorant about it the thief wants you to doubt if it really applies to you. In either case, he’s got you.

Challenge of the Week

Take authority over your life, your family and your territory. Know your rights and the power you have over the enemy, the thief. What one thing do you doubt or need to know about power or authority? Start in God’s Word and learn it. So be it.
