Make Your Photo Album

The Bible gives us pictures of faith. There are pictures of various levels of faith. So today, let’s make your photo album. What do you say? Ever wondered what a picture of your faith looks like?

Most people do NOT like to look at their own pictures. Recently, our pastor used that very analogy. In doing “selfies” what’s the first thing you and others want to do when one is taken? You want to approve it!

“Let me see that before you post it!”

In other words, we want to be sure that the selfie portrays the image that we want it to. Most people don’t like their own image.

The Bible’s Faith Photo Album

The following is a list of pictures of various kinds/levels of faith. It’s always fun to watch someone post progressive pictures related to fitness or weight loss and the amazing transformation. So here’s my list of the various pictures of faith, with scripture references. I also list associated pictures meaning that if scripture shows us a picture of one level of faith, it must mean there is an opposite level of faith associated with it.

See what picture comes to mind for you…or of you. Here we go:

  • Great Faith – Matthew 8:5-10 (vs 10)
  • Little Faith – Matthew 14:22-31 (vs 31)
  • Strong Faith – Romans 4:17-21 (vs 20)
  • Weak Faith – Romans 4:19
  • Full (of) Faith – Acts 6:1-5 (vs 5)
    • Empty Faith
  • Sincere Faith – I Timothy 1:5
    • Fake Faith
  • Unwavering Faith – James 1:5-7 (vs 6)
    • Unstable Faith – Romans 4:20
  • Shipwrecked Faith – I Timothy 1:18-19 (vs 19)
  • Rich Faith – James 2:5
    • Poor Faith
  • Mature (perfected) Faith – James 2:22
    • Immature Faith
  • World-Overcoming Faith – I John 5:4

What is your picture? Is it Strong, Sincere, or maybe Shipwrecked pictures of faith? Whatever your current picture is, it is your starting point. Everything is fixable. There is always room for growth, even in the strongest of faith. My goal is to get my faith to the point where I am of great value to the Kingdom. The more I develop my faith, the more Kingdom Impact I can have for God. Even World-Overcoming Faith. What does that look like to you?

Are you brave enough to share your level of faith in the comments below? At one point in my life, after years of growth and full-time ministry, my faith was shipwrecked, weak, and very unstable. So I’ve come a long way in the last few years. Where are you?

Challenge of the Week

Be brave enough to look at your picture. What does your faith look like? Be honest enough to accept where you are with your faith. Now you have a starting point. What one thing can you do this week to develop your faith to the next level? Others, and the Kingdom, are depending on you. So be it!

Not sure how to develop your faith? Check out next week’s post.
