Putting Shoes On It

What if God lived with you, literally? And what if God worked in your place or actually owned your business, and led your family? Do you know what that would look like and mean? As you know, the blog topics you read are the issues of life that flow through my head. And I know the Antidote, the answer, but often I fall short of actually putting shoes on it. Let’s talk about it.

My mentor reads my posts. All of them, right Keith? Haha (did you catch that Dr.)! He will reply at times and say, “You did a great job at putting shoes on it.” In simple terms, it’s taking something and making it simple. Something you can actually understand, put shoes on it, and walk in it. Practical.

What If…

What if you actually put God’s shoes on? And what if you actually walked in His Shoes? What would that look like in real time, real life? Or better yet, what if God walked in your shoes? What if He walked in yours at home, at work, in social media and online, in your marriage, and in your relationships? If each of these parts of life were specific shoes, what ones would you NOT want HIm to walk in?

What It Means To Put The Shoes On

To do this means walking in His Word. Walking in His Will – and how His Word will not return empty or void but will accomplish that which it was sent out to do. Walking in Obedience simply means walking in His Word. This puts in you a whole different dimension that most others never experience…but they could.

They wouldn’t say this, but the Grunewalds have accomplished some amazing things. Better yet, God has done amazing things through them. Their response would be that they live a simple faith.

Isaiah 55:11 AMP

So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;
It will not return to Me void (useless, without result),
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Is your life void? It could be your whole life or just certain parts of your life. When I look at my life and see or feel voids, that’s a clue that I am not walking in God’s word in that part of my life. Why? Because the return on walking in God’s word does not return void.

Deuteronomy 5:33 AMP

You shall walk [that is, live each and every day] in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long in the land which you will possess.

Not Wearing Shoes

What does it look like to NOT put shoes on it? “It” of course means “life.” It means to be walking on your own. Also, it puts one walking without shoes on it in a place where they are trusting what they see, what they feel, and some world view of what they need to do that has absolutely no foundation. That becomes their truth or path in place of God’s Word – the creator of the universe. How silly to think that we could think that we are that much smarter than God in doing it our way.

For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Are you putting shoes on it? People judge themselves based on their good intentions but judge others based on their actions. Let’s turn that around and put shoes on our intentions instead of just thinking about it and talking about it. You know what they say,

“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”

Challenge of the Week

What part of the word of God do you need to take and put shoes on it? Take action to stop thinking and talking about it (good intentions), and do it. So be it.
