In Search of Peace

People desire to live a life of peace. I think that means that whatever they are doing, whatever their lifestyle is, they want to be able to do it hassle-free. They are in search of peace.

In Search of Peace in our journey of life.
Looking for Peace.

There Is A Problem

People do what they want to do. And in doing it, they want the outcome THEY desire. The problem is, there are consequences to their actions. God has designed laws to govern our universe.

For example, give and you shall receive. Smile at someone and 9 out of 10 times they will smile back. Punch someone in the nose and you will most likely get a similar response back. In this case, it’s not like someone is trying to be spiritual, but the consequence is still a natural consequence based on what God set in motion from the beginning.

Luke 6:38 AMP

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”

Gravity – jump up, and you’ll come back down. It’s not spiritual, but it’s a natural consequence (or reaction) to what you do. It’s kind of like polarity.

Consequences are like reactions. It’s like polarity between two people or things, they are completely different from each other in some way. Like the polarities of good and evil. Other words to describe it would be oppositions, contradictions, or paradoxes,

The Other Issue

A sin-filled world.

So we expect to find peace and yet do whatever we want. It doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t matter what you do or how you do it, there are always going to be consequences, reactions, challenges, and issues with it. The world is already broken due to the sinful nature of mankind. Then add to it by doing it your way. And then you expect peace?

There is only one exception. If I told you there was an exception to all of this, would you want it? Would you be willing to go great distances to find it, to get it? What if I told you it might not be the most pleasant journey, but it is worth finding? It is the silver bullet, the secret sauce, the greatest secret ever told but rarely followed.

The Light At The End of The Tunnel

This is what gives us hope – the light, the bullet, the sauce, the secret, at the end of the tunnel. But what if I told you, you didn’t have to wait till you get to the end of the tunnel? You can have it for real as you journey through the tunnel, the challenges, the issues, and the valleys.

It is not the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s the light that helps you see your way through the tunnel. It is the Jesus way.

Psalm 119:105 NIV

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

The Jesus Way

Here’s the silver bullet. Be a follower of Jesus. And be a disciple. Be a learner of the Word – Jesus is the Living Word. And even more, be a doer of the word.

Let me give you several title links of past blog posts that will help you on this journey of life and how to do it while experiencing peace during that journey, not just hopefully finding it at the end of the tunnel. Here are the links:

Challenge of the Week

My prayer is that you find peace in your journey, not at the end of your journey. This doesn’t mean the road is easier, but our peace is in Jesus. Jesus is our rest (our Shabat). We are to find our rest, our peace, in Him every day in our journey no matter what the situations dictate or what valleys we are walking through. Jesus is our peace, it’s the Jesus way. So be it.
