I bet you feel drained today, even as you are reading this. If not today, you probably felt drained this past week. And you are probably feeling drained already about getting through this week. It is draining.
Life Is a Drain
Life sometimes feels like we go from one drain to another. Sometimes, if we are lucky, we get a little break in between. Yet somehow we hang on to this hope that we will actually break free and live a drain-free life until we die.
The hope we have is an illusion. Hang with me and let me explain.
I Peter 4:12 AMP
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test you [that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange or unusual were happening to you.
So it’s not about the ordeals, tests, or circumstances we go through and face in our journey through life. That’s just a part of life in this broken, sin-filled world.
Life does not have to drain you. This is not to say that it will be easy. But it does not and should not drain you.
Be Energized
Life will drain us when we are not in step (walking) with Jesus. Without Jesus, or walking it on our own (drawing from our empty inner-self) is to live through an already tough, challenging, draining life without a foundation to stand on.
To live with Christ is to be energized. He gives us purpose. With that purpose, He gifts us each in unique ways. When we are operating in our gifts in accomplishing His purpose, life is energizing even amid the fiery trials of life.
James 1:2 ESV
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
Ephesians 2:10 ESV
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Don’t be drained or chained by life, be free. Prove It, by Crowder…
Challenge of the Week
Be encouraged! Do not let life drain you. Find your strengths, your gifts. Know God’s purpose for your life. Do not delay and live another week allowing life to drain you. Find yourself in Christ, and with Christ without delay. So be it.
