If you have the time, go to this link https://youtu.be/RkKvdvZ77-0 and listen to at least the last 5 minutes of Tony Compolo’s message – it’s Friday but Sunday’s a comin! It’s an oldie but a goodie!
It’s Friday, and…
- there was shock from Jesus being falsely accused
- depression filled the air
- nasty power and greed was taking over
- the disciples and followers were scattered and afraid
- they didn’t know….
…Sunday’s a Comin!
It’s Friday, and…
- all that was hoped for seemed to be in defeat
- death filled the air – even Judas had regret and killed himself
- Satan felt the victory in his hands
- they didn’t know…
…Sunday’s a Comin!
It’s Friday, and…
- in America and across the world it seems just like another day
- people seek love in all the wrong places to fill the hole in their heart
- many wonder in lostness and hopelessness
- they don’t know…
…Sunday’s a Comin!
It’s Friday, and I…
- had just turned 18 years old a few weeks before
- was more concerned about which cute girl might be interested in me
- didn’t know I had a group of friends praying for me
- had no clue that all of eternity was about to be determined for me
- didn’t know…
…Sunday’s a Comin!
It’s Friday, and…
- where are you
- are you still trying to fill that hole in your heart
- do you feel defeated and lost
- do you know…
…Sunday’s a Comin!
On this day 41 years ago, it was my Sunday. I finally understood Friday and I looked forward to that day, that Sunday, which was a comin! I asked for the forgiveness of my sins and asked Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of my life. It was at 9:30 pm at a youth camp in Vero Beach Florida.
God had a plan, and it didn’t end on Friday. It’s Friday, but Sunday’s a comin! He’s alive!
Challenge of the Day: Answer this question – have you made Jesus both Lord and Savior of your life? Or have you only made Him Savior but not Lord too? What, you are still Lord of your own life? Take full advantage of both His death and resurrection. Ask Him to not just be Savior, but to be Lord too. So be it.
