But God…Did the Impossible

I hope you were encouraged greatly by yesterday’s post and found it to be a blessing. Let us take a look at Words of Encouragement and see what the possibilities are for today, in our every-day-walking-around-kind-of-life. For sometimes we think, “But God!” And that is when we need to know, but God…did the impossible!

But God...did the impossible. With God all things are possible.

Impossible (adjective) – not able to occur, exist, or be done.

I remember when Carmen and I got the news that our GM was quitting.  He had almost stopped communicating with me, and now he had given a 2-week notice, “God, he was supposed to buy our business so how could this be!”  We lived just over 1000 miles away. Fortunately Carmen had flexibility to go back to Indiana to shore up our business as we were trying to sell it.  Carmen and I had never been apart…at least not like what was about to happen.

Our Situation Seemed Impossible

In short, what was about to unfold seemed impossible.  Carmen was coming up on the 6-month mark of being in Indiana (in a highly stressful situation with our business) while I was down at our new home and job in Florida.  We knew something had to change.  With this post I don’t have enough space nor the time to write out the whole story.

I was graciously given permission by my employer to work remotely from Indiana. But I was told I had a maximum of 3 months to be back to Florida.  In my head I thought how was all of this even possible, but I knew we (Carmen and I) had to somehow get it done and get through it.

But God…Did the Impossible

But God…. got me back to Indiana.  But God…. got our Florida home rented (no mortgage burden while we were in Indiana). He got a place for us to stay while there. Then He found us a place to rent for when we returned. All the while He provided for us financially. And in less than a month He sold our business.

But God…did the impossible. He graciously and miraculously helped us bring to a close a highly stressful situation.  We actually left Indiana and were back in Florida in under 3 months (2 ½) and actually laughing (joyously) at how crazy God is and how He intervened on our behalf.  And that’s not even the half of it.

Luke 18:27  NIV.

Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.

Mark 9:23  NIV.

Everything is possible for him who believes.

Hebrews 11:6  ESV

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Luke 1:37  ESV

For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Matthew 17:20  ESV

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Can you hear Jesus, as you walk with Him, whispering these words in your ear?

When you face an impossible situation, I can’t say this will happen or that will happen. But if you ask me to pray with you I will ask you, “What are you believing God for (what do you have the faith for)?”  And then I will agree with you in prayer – But you better have God’s word to back it up.

Always remember:

“God is my strength and power” (2 Samuel 22:33).

“With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

“We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).

“God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20).

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

What is Your Situation?

Do you have an impossible situation?  And do you need a miracle?  So do you need God’s supernatural intervention?  Walk with Him.  Let Him walk with you.  Trust Him and have the faith (in Him and His word) to lead and guide you through your impossible situation. For that matter, any and every situation.

Challenge of the Day:  Believe in God. NO, not that He exists somewhere far away and is uninvolved, but believe that He cares about you and is with you right here, right now! He is waiting for you to ask Him to intervene in your everyday life at this very moment.  He is waiting for you to speak to your situation!  Do it, and so be it!

Darel, your comment has encouraged me. My struggles over the years have been many. Often I felt very separated from God. The more Jesus’s presence becomes real to me in my everyday life, the more inspired I am to write on how Jesus inspires me. I hope you are well my friend, and again thanks for the kind words.

awesome, even though you know the story it is important to be reminded of the God of the impossible and how it played out for David and is for each of us too…
