Know this, everyone who hears God’s word, and puts on their shoes and walks in it, is like a wise man who built their house on the rock. God’s got me – He says so. And He’s got you, too!

The Word of God is Truth – Declare It As Truth
God’s people will live in peaceful dwelling places, secure homes, places of undisturbed rest. So if we dwell in the shelter of the Most High, then we are resting in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say,
“God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
Yes, He rescues you from hidden traps and shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you. Under them you’re perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing. Not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day, not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon. Even though others succumb all around and drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you.
His Angels Guard You
You’ll stand untouched and watch it all from a distance and watch the wicked turn into corpses. Yes, because God’s your refuge and your very own home, evil can’t get close to you, nor harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling. You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path.
“If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.”
God
I’ll give you the best of care if you’ll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I’ll answer. I’ll be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party. I’ll give you a long life and I’ll give you a long drink of salvation!”
I look up to the mountains – any of them. Does our strength come from mountains? No, our strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.
Not On Your Life
He won’t let you or me stumble. Your Guardian God won’t fall asleep. Not on your life! Israel’s
Guardian will never doze or sleep.
God is your Guardian, right at your side to protect you. Shielding you from sunstroke,
sheltering you from moonstroke. God guards you from every evil. He guards your very life.
He guards you when you leave and when you return. Get this, He guards you now and he guards you always.
My Stronghold
The Lord is My Rock, my fortress and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
No Weapon Formed
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.
For You, O Lord, bless the righteous [the one who is in right standing with You]; You surround us with favor as with a shield.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Therefore, let us put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
From UPPERROOM, the Defender is a great song to meditate on…
Challenge of the Week
If you decide that God’s word is not truth, then choose a god you’d rather serve. And do it today – I challenge you! Is God’s Word truth, or is it not? Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods on whose land you think you are now living. As for me and my family, we’ll choose and worship God. Jesus is the only real, and alive, Protector. So be it.
