My Birthday Girl

Sometimes I know you wonder where I am and feel that at times I am far away. Many times in the past I saw you struggle with feeling loved and you wondered if it was so, or would ever be.  So today my birthday girl, I want to remind you of how special you are to Me.

I shaped you first inside, then out, and formed you in your mother’s womb. I knew about you and planned for you before you existed.  When you were conceived, I was there. I sculpted you from nothing into a beautiful and precious life. The days of your life were planned, even though you hadn’t lived a single day yet.

Yes there were many times, many days through the years, in which you had strayed from the path I had prepared.

I saw. I saw your hurt and pain. I saw. I saw how lost you felt. I saw how much you wanted things to be right. I saw you. I was holding your broken heart in my hands.

But I saw. I saw your true heart. I saw you trying to be strong, wanting to feel beautiful, reaching out to love, a kind and wonderful little girl growing into an amazing young woman.

And now here you are. More beautiful than ever. I remember when you returned from that trip, that trip I put on your heart to go to Nicaragua. Thank you for going. I knew you were the right person to have on that trip. You were called. That trip was not for the people, or even for the kids I put on your heart, but it was for you.

You allowed me in. You reflected Me to those around you. You allowed My light to shine through you like no other. You allowed me to touch hearts and change lives through you. But mostly, you allowed me to change your life. Your heart was so raw, so open, to allow me to begin to live and love through you. You were amazing!

I had your husband ready to hold you and console your broken heart when you returned from that trip. He thought he was there to comfort you. But little did he know that I put you there for him. His life too was changed that day as his heart came back to Me. Thank you Carmen for making that happen.

You saw My heart through that experience. I loved being on that trip with you. We grew so close during that time. So as then, continue to stay near to me. I am always near to you. I know your heart. I also know your fears and what makes you anxious. Do not let these things overcome you as I will always lead you everywhere you go as a lamp unto your feet.

I watch over you as you sleep and know when you get up.  My protection goes before you and follows behind you.  You can never imagine how many times I have protected you from something or someone, and you never knew. My angels are encamped around you. Continue to trust in me. Darkness is nothing to me, for my light shines greatly. It shines greatly through you.

Carmen, my hand is upon you.  I called you to Myself.  Let me hold you and lead you. Many hearts will be changed because of you. I will use you to reach the poor with the good news, to tell those who have been tangled in chains that they are now free, and to the blind that they now have sight, and to set free those who are oppressed.

I long to bring light into darkness.  Darkness is nothing to me, for my light shines into and overcomes it.

One more thing. I know you have a day of birth. But I also know how you like to extend that just a little bit. I believe you call it your “birthday week” and “your birthday month.” Well know this – every day of your life, your every-day-walking-around-kind-of-life, is worth celebrating. Your life is worth celebrating every day!
