About Terry R. Modesitt
Terry graduated from Indiana State University in 1979 where he played and lettered in football.
He then graduated from Indiana University Law School-Indianapolis in 1983. Completed a 3-year curriculum in 2 1/2 years. Passed the bar exam after two years of law school. Worked for a law firm for three years. And then started his own law firm in 1985.
Terry was elected as the Vigo County Prosecutor in 2007. First Republican elected as a prosecutor in almost 25 years in Vigo County. Now completing his 4th term, he is running for re-election this year. If elected this year, according to historical data, he will become the longest sitting prosecutor ever in Vigo County.
He is married to his beautiful wife Karen, 40 years this coming March 20. Terry describes her as the backbone of the family. They have two sons, Jared and Joel, who are both attorneys and work at Modesitt Law Firm, PC. Jared has two daughters, Brielle and Kinsley, Terry and Karen’s grandchildren.
Terry is an avid IU basketball fan and a big sports fan overall. He works out and plays in basketball leagues to stay in shape. He is a collector of sports cards and memorabilia. But most of all he loves spending time with his wife and family.
Terry wants to be known as a man who did his best to be a good witness for the Lord in all his roles throughout life. Even in the most difficult roles of public political life.
