Well, I started it yesterday with a featured song from Whiteheart. And so I’ve decided this week’s blog posts are going to feature Christian song hits from the ’80s. Today I am featuring a song about the old boob-tube (old-style TV). But you will find that other than the technology not much has changed. So what voice do you listen to?
Boob-tube (noun) – A distracted or lazy person is a “boob“, and old TVs are CRT (cathode ray TUBE). So the tube a lazy person stares at is a “boob tube“.
Do Not Be a Boob
Some people will do anything to be heard. But some people just want to know that they are heard, but that is for a different blog post. Today I am speaking of all those voices that want you to know what they believe, in mainstream media and TV in general. And that what they believe is what you need or should know as the truth. So how do you know what voice to listen to? Do not be distracted by all the voices. Do not be a boob (a person easily distracted).
There are Many Voices – Do Not Be Distracted
As the years go by more and more voices have come into play. It has become a huge distraction. And let me add here, it doesn’t matter what side of the spectrum you come from (Republican/Democrat, liberal/conservative, old-style/contemporary, etc.).
I even hear Christians slamming Christians because someone mentioned money, or politics, or the Holy Ghost! Oh my! People are spending way too much time trying to find what they want to hear.
Today’s message is simple and I will not go into the weeds. I do not care if you watch TV, but be careful in letting it lead you. We have all heard the term Mainstream Narrative. People and organizations pay big money to have it. The reason, it gives them great influence.
The source of the truth, the source of THE truth, is the Bible – the Word of God. Should I say it again? Yes! The living Word of God is Jesus, who spoke the world and life into existence. Nothing exists apart from Him or from any other source. He is the way, the Truth, the life.
Romans 12:2
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Challenge of the Day: Make the Word of God the focus and foundation of your truth. So be it!
